Revolutionize Your International Trade Strategy with These Foreign Trade Zone Insider Tips -with Jeremy Page

Welcome to Simply Trade podcast! This week's episode features expert guest Jeremy Page, discussing Foreign Trade Zones and their benefits.
Firstly, Page clarifies that Foreign Trade Zones are not the same as Free Zones, and delves into the history of the zone program and the agencies overseeing it, including the FTZB and CBP. Other players, such as the Grantee, Operator, User, and Administrator, are also discussed.
Next, the requirements to participate in Foreign Trade Zones are outlined, including the necessary applications and approvals, manual requirements, bond, inventory control and recordkeeping systems, and reporting obligations.
Page then explores the benefits and costs of Foreign Trade Zones. Benefits such as inverted tariff, direct delivery, re-export, duty deferral, zone to zone transfers, and use as an export manufacturing platform are discussed, as well as the weekly entry (with noteworthy UFLPA implications). Costs include grantee support, bond, ICRS, use of bonded carriers, headcount, and CBP engagement.
Lastly, current issues with Foreign Trade Zones are explored. These include the absence of USMCA benefits for goods withdrawn from the zone for domestic consumption, USMCA (and formerly NAFTA) duty deferral limitations, and the lack of de minimis benefits.

The Status of International Trade Law - An examination of the current successes and shortcoming of world trade law with Lawrence Hanson - Part 2

In this episode we continue our conversation with Lawrence from last week's episode.
Lawrence Hanson, an international trade law expert, joins the show to examine the current successes and shortcomings of world trade law. He explains the role of international trade law in global trade and discusses the creation of the World Trade Organization and the establishment of trade agreements as successes. Staying Ahead in Trade Compliance with Continuing Education and Certifications with Cynthia Whittenburg and Kiko Zuñiga

Welcome to Simply Trade Podcast where we explore the latest developments and best practices in the world of trade compliance. In this episode, we have two special guests from the NCBFAA Education Institute (NEI), a leading organization dedicated to providing trade professionals with the necessary tools for success in the industry.    
Our guests today are the most recent former director of NEI, Federico “Kiko” Zuñiga and the current director Cynthia Whittenberg.  Kiko and Cynthia will provide insights into the role of the NEI in providing trade-specific certifications to trade professionals and working with organizations, such as Global Training Center, to maintain those certifications through accredited continuing education.    
They'll share their experiences in working in the industry and where they have seen the benefits on staying updated with regulations through education.  Furthermore, helping us understand the reasons, circumstances, and benefits as to why the U.S. government will begin a program soon requiring Licensed Customs Brokers to maintain their certifications though continued education.  Enjoy the show.

Study Smarter, Not Harder: Tips for Acing the U.S. Customs Broker Exam with Ruth Rodriguez

Ruth Rodriguez of the GRVR law firm developed and perfected her course, The Best Customs Broker Prep Course to help individuals improve on their chances at passing the exam.  Nationally the pass rate for the exam averages at about 20%, while Ruth’s students average 90% success rate.  Join us as we discuss Ruth’s recommended approach to studying for the U.S. Customs Broker License exam, talk about how students can make the most of the course materials and other facts about the exam.
